Collection: Dzovig Arnelian

Dzovig Arnelian is an experimental Lebanese - Armenian artist with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts. She is a bold feminist artist mostly working on themes related to gender roles, women empowerment, patriarchy criticism and so on. 

Her artworks include working on various materials and in different mediums like painting, body prints, prints, photography etc. The most interesting aspect in Dzovig’s body of work is the daring depiction of themes which often shocks the audience with its intimacy and vulnerability. 

BIOGHRAPHY

Dzovig Arnelian was born on March, 6, 1996 in Beirut, Lebanon, into a family of musicians. Although she spent her first years listening to music, it was painting that caught her attention, and thus from the age of 13 she started to express herself through art. She has enrolled in the Lebanese University, where she received her Bachelor degree in Plastic Arts, then completed later her Master’s degree in the same field. Dzovig’s dream was to express herself via art, and to help others to do so as well. She established Arneli Art Gallery in 2020, to primarily expand her circle and deliver Middle Eastern art to the whole world.

The art of Dzovig Arnelian could be described as a fusion between the classical figurative art of the Baroque era and the contemporary expressionism. Her paintings and body prints evoke feelings of sensuality, love, fertility and intimacy. These feelings are sometimes mixed with anger and a rebellious approach criticizing the prevalent perspective on women’s body. Dzovig’s compositions are enhanced by her versatile use of intimate mediums, such as bed sheets, saxophone pads, underwears, sensual linens and many more personalized items where she boldly takes the lead in expressing femininity in her unique way.

Although at first glance her works resemble figurative nudes, she definitely has succeeded in her own terms to express femininity in all its delicacy, sensuality and power.

Dzovig had her first solo exhibition "24 universes" in 2020 at Artlab gallery and since then she has participated in many international exhibitions in Africa, Egypt, Spain, USA and Japan. Her artworks today are part of many prestigious private collections all over the globe.
